The Teton County Sheriff’s public information officer confirmed that South Carolina native Brian Hickerson was arrested in the early morning hours of February 14, while the couple vacationed in Jackson, Wyoming.

Hickerson was booked for domestic battery after allegedly punching the Nashville star “with a closed fist on the right side of her face.” He was also charged with interference with a police officer. Both charges are misdemeanors in Wyoming.

The Teton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a disturbance between Hickerson and an unidentified 30-year-old female at a private residence in Jackson. The caller told police that an intoxicated man had been locked out of the residence after punching his girlfriend in the face.

Deputies arrived and found Hickerson in the driveway. He told officers that Panettiere was inside the home claiming “he beat the f*ck out of” her.

But cops say that Hickerson avoided answering if he had indeed punched his girlfriend. He did claim that he hired a private chef to stick around so he “wouldn’t be accused of bullsh*t.”

That private chef was no longer present, but officers say that they talked to him on the phone. The chef says he left a little after 1 am, which would have been less than an hour before the cops were called. He says that he witnessed the couple arguing earlier in the night, but he didn’t mention seeing a physical altercation.

Records state that Panettiere told officers that Hickerson was throwing things and punched her while they were in the bedroom. Cops noted that the actress’ face was red and swollen, and she also had a scrape and swelling on her left hand.

Hickerson was released from jail on a $5,000 bond later that day, and is due back in court next month.

A History of Violence From Brian Hickerson

This is not the first time that Hickerson has been picked up for domestic violence.

In May 2019, a judge ordered Hickerson to stay away from Panettiere following a felony domestic violence arrest. Police had found “redness and marks” on the actress’ body. However, the charges were dropped after they couldn’t secure a “material witness.” Panettiere wouldn’t testify against her boyfriend.

And back in October 2018, police picked up Hickerson following a domestic assault involving him and his father, David. An officer witnessed him chasing his dad in an agitated state. His dad had “what appeared to be blood on his face.”
