Meghan Markle’s Nephew spent four days in a Los Angeles jail after being hauled off completely naked in the back of a police car.
Thomas Dooley, who is nephew to the Duchess herself, was seen wandering nearly naked through Hollywood. And when I say “nearly naked,” I mean that he was running around with just a little towel wrapped around his waist.
The 28-year-old was reportedly under the influence of some substance, although it is unclear at this time what substance he had allegedly taken. Bystanders called police after witnessing Dooley walking nearly nude down the street and shouting gibberish at himself.
When police officers arrived at the scene and tried to approach Dooley, it is reported that he “defiantly” walked away.
Officers eventually had to take him down after he continually tried to evade police, wrestling to get him into custody. While trying to subdue him, an officer at the scene hurt his knee, causing Dooley to get booked on a felony resisting arrest instead of a misdemeanor.
Cell phone video taken by witnesses at the scene show the arrest, which took place near the Hollywood Hotel, just north of Santa Monica Blvd. Dooley is seen still causing chaos and yelling, as officers attempted to load him into the back of the police car. By this time, Dooley has lost his towel in the scuffle and is completely naked.
Witnesses also claim that Dooley was being so disorderly and wild in the back of the car that he was taken out, strapped down on a gurney, and treated by a paramedic. He was then taken to the hospital.
Dooley was arrested and booked for felony resisting arrest. His bail was set for $25,000, but he didn’t have to pay up because he was released on his own recognizance. He was released from the LAPD’s Hollywood facility on September 30th.
This is the second time this year that one of Meghan Markle’s relatives has had a run-in with the law.
Thomas Markle Jr., Dooley’s dad and Meghan’s half-brother, was busted for driving while “visibly intoxicated” back in January. He was sentenced to a diversion program, which typically require defendants to complete community service, enter inpatient rehab centers, pay fines, or other requirements that will help remedy the behavior that led to arrest.
Meghan has been estranged from the Markle side of her family ever since her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
