Courteney Cox Taking Desperate Measures to Maintain Her Youth

LRNYC MEGA

We all know aging is hard, especially on women in Hollywood. There is pressure to maintain perfect skin, perfect hair, and an up-to-date and fashionable wardrobe at all times. Courteney Cox, 55, is clearly feeling the pressure – and going to strange measures to keep her youth.

While out at Cipriana having drinks with friends, Cox is seen working on her skincare routine.

At The Bar

Anti-aging isn’t just about using the best retinol creams or the best wrinkle cream for those undereye crinkles. It’s about maintaining a full routine, which Cox demonstrated at the bar this week.

While chatting with friends, she pulled out a rose quartz face roller and started to use it while still maintaining a casual conversation.

Cox seemed completely casual as she rolled her eyebrows, the skin under her eyes, and under her lips. She then used her fingertips to massage the skin under her neck and… test for firmness? Rub something in? We’re not entirely sure what was going on.

Then Cox returned to the bar for another drink, continuing to act like this was completely normal.

What Is a Face Roller?!

Cox appears to be using a rose quartz face roller, which is a long smooth piece of quartz that you roll against your skin. It’s been used for hundreds of years, and often made of a variety of stones, including jade.

These rollers are supposed to improve your blood circulation in your skin, help you maintain skin elasticity (vital as you age!), reduce wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness, as well as promote lymphatic drainage and eliminate toxins.

In past interviews Cox has said how seriously she takes her skincare routine, and that she is a big fan of micro-needling, where tiny needles are rolled all over the face to promote elasticity and youthfulness. This appears to just be an extension of that.

Once a Friend’s Co-Star, Always a Friend’s Co-Star

Courteney Cox has done a lot since then, but she will forever be an iconic face because of her role as Monica Geller in Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004. Yes, that means that Friends first aired 25 years ago. Feel old yet?!

Later this year Friends is set to have a 3 night run in 1,000 movie theaters across the US to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show.

For Courteney’s birthday this year, she shared on Instagram she spent the day with co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston with a caption about how “lucky” she was to have them in her life. Clearly, ten years of shooting Friend’s was good bonding.

While a Friend’s reunion is still firmly a no-go, we can enjoy them on the big screen this year and hope that Courteney is finding what she needs with her rolling quartz in public. Hopefully, she won’t be the next star we talk about having some questionable plastic surgery.
