If you have relied on Keeping Up With the Kardashians to, well, “keep up” with the Kardashians for the last 14 years, I have some bad news.
The E! reality show is finally coming to an end, after 20 seasons.
And yes, it’s true. Kim Kardashian West, Kris Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian have all released lengthy statements on social media announcing the sad news.
Season 20 is set to air in early 2021, and will be the final season of KUWTK.
“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years,” Kim K wrote. “Through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”
In the joint statement posted by Kris — signed by Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Rob, Kendall, Kylie, and Scott Disick — the Kardashian-Jenner clan also took the time to thank the “thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience.”
They also didn’t forget to give a shoutout to Ryan Seacrest, the network, and their production team at Bunim/Murray.
The E! reality series starring the Kardashian-Jenner clan has been on the air since 2007! In all honesty, it’s hard to imagine the reality show landscape without it.
Kim notes that “without Keeping Up With the Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
She continued, “I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”
It is unclear if Kourtney Kardashian’s desire to stop filming had anything to do with the show coming to the end, but one can certainly assume it at least had something to do with it.
Kourtney had been pretty vocal about it, and became a point of contention between her, Kim, and Khloe. In Season 18, Kourtney said she’d be taking a break from filming.
The statement goes on to say that the last season will air in 2021 — but this will be the final season of KUWTK.
You won’t have to wait until 2021 to get your Kardashians fix, though. Season 19, the most recent season of KUWTK, is set to premiere on September 17. Filming was halted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
