Tracy Morgan and his wife, Megan Wollover, are splitting after almost five years of marriage.

“Sadly, after nearly five years of marriage, Megan and I are filing for divorce. This is a challenging time for all involved, so I ask that you please respect our privacy,” Morgan said in a statement through a spokesperson.

A rep for Wollover also confirmed the news.

Megan Wollover Already Filed for Divorce

“We can confirm that Megan filed for divorce yesterday,” the rep said in a statement. “This is a private matter for the family. Megan’s primary focus remains the best interest of the parties’ daughter. She asks that the family’s privacy be respected during the difficult time.”

Morgan, 51, and Wollover, 33, share one daughter: 7-year-old Maven Sonae.

The 30 Rock star also has three adult sons with ex-wife Sabina Morgan: Gitrid, 34; Malcom, 32; and Tracy Jr., 28.

Morgan first announced his engagement to Wollover in September 2012, on the Emmys red carpet. They tied the knot a few years later, in August 2015, with an intimate ceremony.

The nuptials came not long after Morgan recovered from a near-fatal car crash. In June 2014, a Walmart truck slammed into Morgan’s limousine on the New Jersey Turnpike. The wreck killed his friend and collaborator, comedian James McNair. It also left Morgan in a wheelchair for five months.

Morgan and Wollover Have Been Spending a Lot of Extra Time Together During the Pandemic

News of the couple’s split comes less than three months after Morgan talked to PEOPLE about what life had been like for him and his family amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Just like millions of others across the nation, the actor-comedian has been hunkered down with his family in his suburban home.

“We’re taking this time to get closer — loving more and being patient with each other,” he told the media outlet. “My life is always so busy, so now I get time to just be with my family.”

He also joked about his quarantine survival kit including brown paper bags and newspaper as a substitute for toilet paper, plus keeping a stock of Motrin.

“And for ladies, you better get some Motrin, because I’m going to get on your nerves and you’re going to have a headache!” Morgan joked.

It is unclear if all that extra time together at home led to the couple’s split. Perhaps Wollover’s Motrin stash ran out!
