2020 Emmy Nominations Are In – See the Complete List Here

The nominees are in!

Nominations for the 72nd annual Emmy Awards arrived Tuesday during a virtual event.

Saturday Night Live alum Leslie Jones hosted the big reveal along with Josh Gad, Laverne Cox, and Tatiana Maslany.

Streaming giant Netflix managed to walk away with a massive 160 nods — the most out of any network or streaming service. In fact, Netflix managed to break HBO’s record for the most Emmy nominations ever. HBO set that record last year with 137 nods.

Of course, HBO still showed up in full force this year, too, snagging 107 nominations.

However, with shows like Game of Thrones finally out of the running, leading categories were open to newcomers and other programs that have yet to win big.

Disney+, newcomer to the streaming universe, also picked up some nominations for the “House of Mouse” — thanks to golden boy The Mandalorian. You can’t ignore the “Baby Yoda” sensation that debuted on the Walt Disney Company’s multibillion-dollar streaming service back in November. The Star Wars spin-off series picked up 15 nods overall.

You’ll have to wait until the actual award show to find out which programs and stars get to take home trophies. The 72nd annual Emmy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will air September 20th on ABC.
