Til Debt Do Us Part – Pamela Anderson Married Jon Peters to Pay Off Debts

Pamela Anderson and Jon Peters have already split after a very brief marriage: it lasted for 12 days.

Now, Jon Peters is claiming that Pamela only married him to pay off her debts, making him an “old fool.”

Pamela Anderson and Jon Peters Wed in Secret Ceremony

Pamela Anderson, 52, married Jon Peters, 74, producer of movies like A Star is BornSuperman Returns, and Batman on January 20. The couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Malibu, surprising everyone.

However, the model and actress announced their split only 12 days later, on February 1.

At first, a source had previously claimed that Pamela felt she had foolishly jumped into the marriage following a spiritual trip to India, and felt she “just needed to take a step back.” The Baywatch star had just returned from spending “several weeks on an Ayurvedic cleanse to start the new decade off fresh.”

“I can understand how that could have influenced her propensity to accept a marriage proposal,” the source continued. “That’s Pamela: she’s Hollywood’s wildflower.”

Jon Peters Claims Pam Proposed Marriage to Get Debts Paid

But Jon has finally spoken out about his very short marriage to the actress, disputing plenty of her claims.

The film producer says that it was actually Pam who proposed marriage, not him. And he says that she did it over text.

“Needless to say that when she texted me that she wanted to get married, it was kind of a dream come true even though I was engaged to someone else and the lady was moving in,” Jon told Page Six. But he went further, alleging that Pamela only married him to pay off debts.

“I dropped everything for Pam,” he said. “She had almost $200,000 in bills and no way to pay it so I paid it and this is the thanks I get.”

“There’s no fool like an old fool,” he added.

A rep for Pam has responded to Jon’s allegations, stating, “These claims are not only entirely fabricated, they are ludicrous. Despite Mr. Peters’ scurrilous and ongoing efforts to elicit a response from Ms. Anderson, she has no comment to provide and hopes he is well.”

It sounds like there isn’t much to do in terms of dissolving the marriage, though. According to inside sources, the two had not yet filed the legal paperwork for a marriage certificate following their spontaneous nuptials.
