Jason Momoa might look like a burly, bearded action hero, but when he talks about his wife, Lisa Bonet, the man turns into a teddy bear. He’s so clearly smitten with her, more than a decade into their relationship.
But there’s one thing that the otherwise laid-back Lisa Bonet has forbidden him to do.
“My wife would leave me if I cut my hair, so I just don’t cut my hair,” Momoa told the Daily Telegraph in an interview promoting Aquaman. “I am not cutting my hair for a while, I will tell you that much.”
The couple might not make sense on paper–she’s 51 and he’s just 39, not to mention he’s more than a foot taller than the petite actress–but there’s no denying how crazy Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet are about each other.
After 10 years together, the pair wed in a low-key ceremony at their California home last year. And they’re not exactly afraid of a little PDA, judging by their canoodling on the red carpet at the Aquaman premiere. I’d say get a room, but they’re just so dang hot together that I can’t look away.
He fondly recalls falling for her the moment she ordered his favorite drink on their first date–a pint of Guinness. The rest is history. The pair have two children together, Lola (11) and Nakoa-Wolf (9). Lisa is also mom to actress Zoë Kravitz with her ex, Lenny Kravitz.
Lest you think there’s any drama between Momoa and Kravitz, don’t worry. He recently commissioned matching skull rings for himself and the rocker in honor of their friendship. Zoë told Us Weekly that her dad and stepdad get along really well. That’s really heartwarming. A little weird, too. But mostly heartwarming.
Want to feel even more jealous? Here’s what Jason Momoa had to say when asked about an ideal date with his wife:
“My wife and I love to go to flea markets,” he told People. “We like getting little trinkets and shopping for antiques.”
Just so we’re clear: the man looks like that, is head-over-heels in love with his wife, and his idea of a good time is shopping for antiques? Does he have a brother? I’m asking for a friend…
