Scott Disick has been spending his lockdown in rehab after Kourtney Kardashian gave him an ultimatum. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star was tipped off by Scott’s girlfriend, Sofia Richie.
But now, Scott is suing the facility for allegedly leaking a photo of him there.
Apparently, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has been doing a number on Scott’s mental health. His latest stint in a treatment facility came after quarantining in L.A. gave him time to realize he had not properly dealt with the death of his parents.
An inside source told E! News that Scott “does really well when he is keeping busy,” but having to stay home has been extremely difficult. It is giving him more “downtime” and left him “spiraling in his thoughts.”
“He has harbored pain that will surface and put him in a bad place,” the source added.
Sofia Richie reached out to Scott’s ex, Kourtney, after becoming “extremely concerned with the choices he was making and how out of control he became very quickly.”
But sources say that Kourtney already had her suspicions, after Scott’s “unresponsiveness to matters and convos that pertained to the kids.” That’s when the Poosh mogul gave him an ultimatum, and he had no choice but to seek help.
“In an effort to finally come to terms and deal with the pain that Scott has been silently suffering for many years due to the sudden death of his mother, followed by the death of his father 3 months later, Scott made the decision to check himself into a rehab facility last week to work on his past traumas,” said Marty Singer, Scott’s lawyer.
Unfortunately for Scott, his trip to rehab has been cut short — and now he plans on suing.
Scott was at the All Points North Lodge in Edwards, Colorado. This luxury facility is one of the best drug rehab facilities that money can buy. With a rep like that, you’d think they’d be better at protecting their patients.
Though Scott has struggled with substance abuse in the past, his lawyer wants to make sure everyone knows his rehab stint isn’t drug-related this time.
“He did not check in for any alcohol or cocaine abuse,” said Singer.
After checking himself into rehab, a photo of Scott inside the facility leaked to media outlets. That’s a big HIPAA violation.
Scott and his lawyer, Marty Singer, believe the photo was taken by a staff member. And if that’s true, it could trigger criminal prosecution.
As soon as Scott caught wind of the leaked photo, he split. A car came and picked him up to head back to L.A.
“Shockingly as a result of the HIPAA violation of the facility and his violation of privacy, he has checked himself out and is immediately returning home,” said Singer. “We are alarmed by this extreme invasion of privacy and plan to take immediate legal action.”
