If you’re going a little stir crazy while social distancing, why don’t you just shoot Rita Wilson a text?
As Rita Wilson and husband Tom Hanks continue to self-isolate down in Australia, the 63-year-old star decided to give fans her mobile phone number so they could reach out.
The couple are currently far away from Hollywood. They are in Australia for a biopic about singer Elvis Presley, which is in pre-production. Tom Hanks will play Presley’s manager, but the project was paused after Tom and Rita’s coronavirus diagnosis.
After Tom and Rita started feeling tired, with body aches, slight fevers, and chills, the two tested positive for coronavirus and were admitted to a Queensland hospital for treatment — in isolation, of course.
They have since been released from the hospital, but are now in self-quarantine at their home there.
Both Tom and Rita have stayed active on social media through the whole ordeal, making sure to keep fans updated on their health. Just recently, Rita confessed she was going a little “stir crazy” in self-isolation, while Tom tweeted, “Hey, folks. Two weeks after our first symptoms and we feel better.”
It looks like self-isolation has Rita a bit bored and lonely. She’s definitely not the only one!
Rita put her mobile phone number on social media, encouraging fans to break out their cellphones and reach out. And yes, her actual number.
The Instagram post is captioned, “Going stir crazy? Have a suggestion for my Quarantunes playlist? TEXT ME! (310) 299-9260 – I’m giving you my phone number!! And YES… It’s actually me.”
“Text me so I can let you know what I’m up to, when I’m in your city (once we can leave our houses), and so we can stay in touch. I mean, not ACTUALLY touch. Social distancing works!” She continued.
Dressed casually in a tan turtleneck jumper, Rita is seen laughing a little nervously during the video as she reiterates what the post’s caption says.

She assures fans that she’ll “get back to you in due time” since she’s “spending a lot of time on text” as she finds herself in self-isolation.
I wonder just how full her inbox is at this point. Do you think she’s regretting it already?
