Jennifer Lopez and Christy McGinity, star of Little Women: L.A., both experienced major losses this week.
Lopez is now mourning the loss of her high school sweetheart, who she dated for nearly a decade, and McGinity’s 2-week-old daughter has sadly passed away.
On Saturday, Jennifer Lopez’s ex-boyfriend, David Cruz, died in Mount Sinai West Hospital in Manhattan. No other information is currently available except that he died from heart disease.
Cruz and Lopez got together when she was only 15 years old. They dated for ten years before they called it quits in the mid-’90s, as Lopez’s fame began to skyrocket.
Isa, who was Cruz’s partner for 18 years, told TMZ that, “He was kind and loving. He never held on to anything and was always very open. He was a devoted father, he helped raise his stepson who is now in the Marines.”
“My favorite moment was family date night because it wasn’t just special for me, but for the kids as well. He always made sure to end things with an ‘I love you.'”
Jennifer Lopez has been in several relationships since Cruz, including Ben Affleck, Diddy, Drake, Marc Anthony, and Casper Smart. She is currently engaged to marry Alex Rodriguez.
Little Women: L.A. star Christy McGinity and her boyfriend, Gonzalo Justo Carazo, announced the death of their 2-week-old daughter in a statement to E! News.
“It is with our deepest sorrow that we send our baby girl, Violet Eva Carazo, to play with the angels. We were able to spend two weeks with our sweet baby girl and for that, we are forever thankful.”
“Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.”
We do not know what caused their daughter’s tragic passing. However, they did reveal that their daughter was born prematurely at just 33-weeks.
The baby lived in the neonatal intensive care unit for most of her short life, where her mother and father recently celebrated her on Instagram.
The post by Gonzalo from his cellular phone read, “Happy One Week Old Birthday to our Baby Girl Violet. Thank U for making me a Dad and bringing me an entire new perspective during your first week of Life. We love you so much!”
