Even Tormund Giantsbane isn’t immune to the coronavirus. On Monday, both Kristofer Hivju and actor Idris Elba revealed that they tested positive for coronavirus.
Hivju is known for playing the role of Giantsbane in HBO’s Game of Thrones series, while Elba played the role of Heimdall in Marvel’s “Avengers.” They join a growing list of actors who have recently tested positive for the virus.
On Monday, Norwegian actor Kristofer Hivju posted on Instagram, revealing that he tested positive for coronavirus and that he and his family are self-isolating at home. Hivju says he is in good health with only mild cold symptoms – in fact, many people testing positive thought they needed only simple flu symptom relief.
He wrote,
Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My family and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold.
This is part of what makes the novel coronavirus so scary. It’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. If something feels off in your body, don’t just pop a few vitamin supplements and be on your merry way. This is the time to be extremely proactive with social distancing.
Hivju continued his post,
There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1.5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine, just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading.
Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance and stay healthy!
Please visit your country’s Center for Disease Control’s website and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions.
