If you’ve ever dreamed of what it might be like to be a top model, Tyra Banks is hoping to make your dream a reality.
The America’s Next Top Model host is finally seeing her modeling utopia come to fruition, as her new modeling theme park is slated to open this spring.
Banks’ beauty theme park, which was first announced last year, is set to open to eager visitors in Santa Monica on May 1.
She has dubbed the park ModelLand, sharing the same name of her 2011 young-adult novel based on her life. The 21,000 sq. ft. multi-level theme park is located within Santa Monica Place, an open-air shopping center that is just blocks away from the pier.
The park’s official website describes this “first-of-its-kind, story-driven attraction” that is supposed to “emulate a fantasy version of the modeling world with state-of-the-art interactive entertainment where beauty, fantasy, tech, theatre, retail and an eating extravaganza collide.”
Although the theme park was just announced last year, it seems as if Banks has been working on bringing her vision to life for 10 years.
“I am excited to bring ModelLand to my hometown in L.A. after dreaming about it for so many years,” Banks said in a statement. “I always loved discovering unique and barrier breaking talent on America’s Next Top Model and I wanted to give that same love to everyone, so I created a physical space to do that.”
Her mission for ModelLand is to “bring modeling to the masses,” as she redefines “what a model and modeling means.” According to Banks, “It ain’t just about having a contract with a top modeling agency. And it’s not just being an Instamodel with tons of followers.”
Instead, she’s hoping that her theme park will help “people everywhere feel more beautiful and powerful than they ever believed possible.”
Of course, all that empowerment and feeling beautiful will come at a price.
According to the ModelLand website, general admission tickets start at $39 for kids ages 3-12, and $59 for visitors 13 and up (excluding additional fees, of course).
The next level up is the “Fantascene Photoshoot” option, which jumps to $549. It’s only for guests 13+, and includes a photoshoot, hair styling, wardrobe change, treats, and more.
But if you really want to live it up like a model, the “Fantascene Dream” costs significantly more. At $1,495, this is the most expensive package at ModelLand. Eager visitors will be treated to a personal consultation with a fashion and beauty expert, more photographs and wardrobe changes, plus a handmade ModelLand elixir and “artisanal truffles,” among other perks.
All visitors end up with digital photo books comprised of the “fierce professional photos” that are taken throughout the attraction.
If you’re hoping to live out your ultimate modeling fantasy, advanced tickets are already available on the ModelLand website.
