Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber are “beside themselves” with worry concerning their son’s mental health.
20-year-old Presley Gerber recently made headlines after revealing his new face tattoo, but his erratic behavior has his parents trying to get him help behind closed doors.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Presley made headlines for debuting a face tattoo that reads “Misunderstood.” The very visible ink was done by celebrity tattoo artist Jonathan “JonBoy” Valena, who quipped “Sorry mom” on his Instagram photo of himself standing next to Presley.

It didn’t take long for the internet to react to Presley’s fresh ink, and plenty of people told him he’d “regret that decision VERY soon” or asked, “But whhhhhhy?”
One user even chimed in, “The only thing misunderstood is that tattoo.”
Presley simply doesn’t “feel very understood,” according to his responses on Instagram Live when he addressed critics. He also reportedly told viewers, “If I thought this was going to ruin my face or I didn’t want this, I wouldn’t have done it. I think that’s a pretty obvious thing.”
After that, Presley made another wild post of himself shooting a gun at a firing range, which he captioned, “innocent little me before all the horrid tattoos,” and also added, “y’all know nothing #waketfup.”
At the time, neither mom Cindy Crawford, dad Rande Gerber nor sister Kaia Gerber had anything to say about the new face tattoo–at least not publicly. But inside sources are painting a much different picture. It looks like they’re trying to handle things quietly behind closed doors.
One insider said, “Cindy and Rande are definitely concerned about their son. They truly want to make sure he is okay.”
“He has just fallen off the beaten path. He has been in treatment before but they are pushing for something more serious,” the source added. “They want to make sure he’s in a good mental state and are closely watching him. Things have been very tense in the family.”
Of course, all of this comes on the heels of his DUI arrest last New Year’s. The young model was speeding recklessly through Beverly Hills at 4 am in his shiny new Tesla, and the officers who pulled him over claim he “reeked of booze.” He was 19 at the time.
We don’t know exactly what his blood alcohol level was that night, but it doesn’t really matter. California has a zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking and driving. He was released on New Year’s Day without bail.
