With 2019 drawing to a close, we’ve already looked at the biggest scandals in the past year, as well as the biggest breakups we saw. Now, let’s take a look at those who have left us this year.

2019 wasn’t a great year to be a celebrity, and we lost some amazing talent along the way. Here is a rundown of some of those that are no longer sharing their passion and love with the world.

This Grammy-nominated rapper was at the height of his career this year, and everyone expected big things from him. Sadly, he was shot multiple times outside of a clothing store he owned and passed away. He was just 33.

Luke Perry

Luke Perry

The 90s heartthrob we all knew and loved, Luke Perry was best known for his role on Beverly Hills, 90210. He passed away this year from a massive heart attack at just 52 years old.

Juice WRLD

At just 21 years old, rising rapper Juice WRLD passed away earlier this month. After suffering a major seizure he was rushed to a hospital, but there was nothing doctors could do. His family later confirmed he had struggled with addiction, which contributed heavily to his death.

Carol Channing

An icon in music, dance, and comedy, Channing basically did it all. Her career spanned decades, and she shaped both live theater and film forever. She passed at the beginning of this year at the age of 97.

Karl Lagerfeld

The creative director for Chanel for over 30 years, Karl Lagerfeld influenced the way we look at fashion today. He passed away earlier this year at the age of 85, and fashion lost an icon.

Cameron Boyce


Gone far too soon, this Disney actor was best known for his roles in Descendants and Grown Ups. At just 20 years old, he suffered a major seizure in his sleep and passed away, robbing the world of what he could have achieved.

John Witherspoon

A much-loved actor best known for his role in The Wayans Bros work, John Witherspoon passed away this year at the age of 77. Social media was immediately flooded with love and support for both him and his family.

Well, this one is sad. Sulli was a famous and successful South Korean actress – in 2017 she was the most Googled person in her country. All the fame in the world couldn’t help her severe depression, panic disorder, and social phobia, though, and she took her own life at the age of 25.

Beth Chapman

Wife to Dog the Bounty Hunter, Beth Chapman saw a lot of screen time in their joint show. She was tough, funny, and could keep up with Dog. She passed earlier this year at the age of 52 in Hawaii.

Peter Mayhew

Remember Chewbacca in Star Wars? Yep, that was Mayhew. At over 7ft tall, Mayhew was typecast in an awful lot of roles, but maybe none quite so loveable and memorable. He was 74.

Caroll Spinney

You might not know the name, but you certainly know Caroll Spinney’s work. He was famous for playing both Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street. He was 85.

Albert Finney

Famous for his roles in Skyfall and Erin Brockovich, Finney also had a long and successful career on stage and made a big impact in British theater. He passed at the age of 82.

Marie Fredriksson

Famous for being one half of the pop duo Roxette, Marie was a huge name in pop during the 80s and 90s. She was just 61 when she passed from complications due to cancer.

Shelley Morrison

You probably know her best from her role as Rosario on Will and Grace, but Shelley Morrison had a long and successful career in Hollywood before passing away this year. She was 53.
