Chuy Bravo Rushed to Emergency Room With Severe Stomach Pain

Chuy’s family members say that the actor came down with severe stomach pains, which lead to him being rushed to the emergency room on Saturday afternoon. After an overnight stay in the hospital, Chuy’s family was told that he had passed away.

The family held a service for Chuy on Sunday in Mexico, and the actor was cremated.

As of now, the exact cause of his death is still unclear.

Born in Tangancicuaro, Michoacán, Mexico in 1956, he originally immigrated to the United States at age 15 when he moved to the San Fernando Valley. However, he did not begin his acting career until the early 1990s. After he started taking classes, he was eventually cast for Austin Powers in Goldmember.

Chuy had other credits in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s EndThe Sex Trip, and The Honeymooners. But he was probably most well-known for being Chelsea Handler’s sidekick.

The comedian featured Chuy on her E! show, Chelsea Lately, for 7 years. The show ran from 2007 to 2014, and during that time, Chuy starred in over 1,000 episodes.

Chelsea paid tribute to Chuy in a touching social media post, writing, “I loved this nugget in a big way, and I took great pleasure in how many people loved him as much as I did and do.”

The post featured several photos of Chuy and Chelsea together.

“@chuybravo gave us so much laughter and I’ll never forget the sound of his laughter coming from his office into mine,” Chelsea continues, “Or his ‘business calls’ with his ‘business manager,’ or his shoe rack with all his children-sized shoes.”

She then mentions a funny story of Chuy celebrating Christmas with her family one year.

“I love you, Chuy!” she finishes.
