Lizzo rocked the red carpet at Sunday night’s AMAs with a ruffled orange Valentino minidress and a teeny, tiny handbag.
“@maisonvalentino bag big enough for my f*cks to give,” she wrote on Instagram, clutching the doll-sized purse between her thumb and forefinger.
The Valentino was a showstopper, resting between Lizzo’s blinged-out nails. Although she failed to take home any new statuary at the AMAs over the weekend, Lizzo’s got to be feeling good as hell as she heads into the 62nd annual Grammy Awards with eight nominations.
The 31-year-old is a rising sensation, and she is up for the awards against other young breakout stars like Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X.
Lizzo’s hit “Truth Hurts” was released in 2017, but three years later, a boost in the song’s streams elevated it to the top of the charts. The song’s popularity opened fans up to Lizzo’s other music, paving the way for her eight nominations this year.
“Truth Hurts” was added to Cuz I Love You as a bonus track so that it would fall into the window of eligibility for Grammy nods.
Lizzo’s decision to take the teensy-weensy Valentino bag to the AMAs was an almost-universally lauded power move. However, this is Hollywood: Someone always gets hurt.
The 33-year-old Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz sent the popstar a cryptic tweet in late September, offering to be her purse.
Hey @lizzo, lemme be your accessory. I can be a purse… put a chain around me and I’ll hold your stuff for you… just sayin.

No one was super sure what to make of this, but we wonder if Lizzo took Muniz’s out-of-the-box thinking as inspiration for her itsy bitsy, teeny-weeny, white and shiny Valen-teeny. But Muniz was clearly let down when he saw Lizzo walk the red carpet without him.
That purse ain’t me… @lizzo

It’s possible Lizzo will take Muniz to the Grammy Awards on January 26th, 2020. We’re definitely hoping for another delightfully out-of-scale accessory.
