Taylor Swift’s fans are sending death threats to Scooter Braun and his family, causing him to beg the pop star to resolve the conflict.
Here we go again with the drama-filled feud between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun of Big Machine Label Group! Except this time, it is Scooter Braun who is going public with his statements.
Scooter first broke his silence over the feud with T-Swift during the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce State of the Entertainment Industry Conference. Without mentioning Taylor by name, he talked about refusing to participate in airing out drama on social media without communicating directly.
According to Scooter, “These problems that are being discussed can be discussed behind closed doors and figured out pretty easily. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for six months.”
Of course, he’s referencing Taylor’s knack for airing everything on social media, which we saw most recently with her rallying her loyal “Swifties” to “let Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun know how you feel about this.”
Her encouragement led to Big Machine briefly closing, after her fanbase started using their internet service as a weapon, doxxing employees and sending them “direct and hostile death threats.”
Well, apparently the death threats didn’t stop there.
Tay-Tay’s rabid fanbase hasn’t backed off, and now Scooter Braun has broken his stance on not participating in social media drama out of desperation. He posted a lengthy statement in the middle of the night, addressed directly to Taylor.
In his statement, Braun reveals that his wife and children have been receiving death threats, but his wife getting a phone call threatening the safety of their children is what finally pushed him to address the pop star over the feud.
Scooter gives Taylor the benefit of the doubt, saying, “I assume this was not your intention,” but adds, “It is important that you understand that your words carry a tremendous amount of weight and that your message can be interpreted by some in different ways.”
He notes that he is “disappointed” in her silence “after being notified by your attorney 4 days ago of these ongoing threats,” but remains hopeful that they can fix the situation.
He then extends an olive branch, asking the pop star to sit down with him to resolve whatever beef they’ve got between them.
So now, it looks like the ball is in T-Swift’s court. Do you think she will finally sit down with Scooter and end the feud?
