Billie Eilish Delves Into the Nightmarish Minds of Children

Billie Eilish went on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night to ask a group of adorable kids the million-dollar question: What happens when we go to sleep?

During her appearance on Kimmel’s show, the provocative popstar rocked her signature baggy look: an oversized white sweater with ripped white jeans and sneakers. She also sported black hair with neon-green roots. (The frequency with which Eilish changes her hair color is either a sign that she is a legit alien, or she spends her millions on the best hair regrowth products in the world).

However, the inspiration of the question posed to the kids came not from Billie’s hair, but from the title of the Los Angeles-born artist’s chart-topping album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

Billie’s Historic Grammy Nominations

Eilish, who will turn 18 years old in December, was nominated for six Grammy awards this year. She’s made history as the youngest artist to earn nominations in all four major categories: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.

Eilish’s discography is underscored by heavy lyrical themes of death, destruction, drugs, and sadness. Leave it to Jimmy Kimmel, pioneer of viral YouTube pranks on kids, to literally put this girl in a room with children just to see what happens.

In the segment, Eilish probes children about their various dreams. But the kids’ nighttime adventures quickly go from cute to troubling in that way only children can accomplish.

When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

“Well, you can pretty much go anywhere,” the first kid answers.

“Like where?” Eilish encourages, stretching her journalistic muscles.

“Like the desert, like India, like the west times, or the mummy times. Or the dinosaur times. Or prehistoric times.”

Eilish then learns some unsettling personal information when one child mimics his parents “Getting into bed and taking off their pajama shirts.”

Shortly after, the chaos worsens as a little girl details her dreams of being attacked by zombies. Then there is the boy who claims that he not only sees Pennywise the clown in his dreams, but in real life as well. The boy has the audacity to tell Billie that he has brought Pennywise to the set that very day.

Eilish, who sings such lyrics as, “Step on the glass, staple your tongue,” and “I like the way they all scream,” is not phased.

The child, Michael, then joyfully informs Billie that Pennywise is sitting on her head, devouring an endless string of living creatures including foxes and grandmothers.

Even Michael’s sickening glee for his demonic vision cannot break stone-cold Billie Eilish. The 17-year-old could only laugh.

We can’t say for sure, but we bet that when Eilish falls asleep, she dreams about winning big at the Grammy awards on January 26, 2020. That, or murderous zombie clowns.
