Unless you’ve been living in a cave without internet service for the last year, then you know all about the new Disney streaming service.
Now that the House of Mouse owns Fox and Hulu (which offers the best live TV streaming service, for our money) in addition to Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and their own content, there is literally no reason not to sign up for Disney+. Especially not since you can get a whole year for free through Verizon Wireless.
Disney’s march toward world domination took a big step on Tuesday when they launched Disney+ (also styled as Disney Plus) to the delight of fans everywhere. In fact, they might have been a little too delighted since overwhelming demand on the service caused outages and delays.
Don’t let the glitched-filled debut of the streaming service scare you off, though. Although they stumbled out of the gate, you can now enjoy The Mandalorian without any issues. And trust me, it’s totally worth it just for that show alone.
If you want to try out a whole year of D+ for free, then you’re in luck. Verizon is offering customers the best deal around. Right now, the service costs $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year. That’s not a bad deal, considering a standard subscription to Netflix runs $12.99 a month. The price is even lower than Hulu or the standalone subscriptions offered by HBO or CBS.
But what’s better than cheap? Free!
This deal is available to new customers and current customers who upgrade to Unlimited. The deal is also available for new customers who sign up for a Fios or 5G Home internet plan through Verizon.
Visit Verizon’s website and sign up (or upgrade) for one of the wireless service’s Unlimited plans. That includes Verizon Unlimited plan, Go Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, Above Unlimited, Get More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, and Start Unlimited.
Even better, if you’ve already prepaid for a year of Disney+, you can still get a bonus year free from Verizon. When you sign up for the deal, your paid subscription will simply go on hold for 12 months.
If you signed up or upgraded to a Verizon Unlimited plan, you just need to log in through the My Verizon app and access your account. There, you’ll find an option for “Add-Ons” followed by “Entertainment.”
Once you’ve activated the deal, Verizon will give you a promo code to apply to your Disney Plus account. That seems a little complicated, but once you set up your account, you won’t have to jump through any more hoops. You’ll be watching The Mandalorian in no time!
As the number of streaming television services continues to mushroom, subscribers will have to get savvy about creating their own savings. Bundled deals like this one can make a big difference when your streaming bill costs about as much as premium cable.
