The legendary singer-songwriter announced that he was adding an additional 24 new concert dates to the second year of the North American leg of his epic worldwide tour. The new dates will be scattered among the already previously announced tour stops that kick off in March.

Is Elton John Stopping in Your City in 2020?

The new shows include stops in smaller cities that weren’t originally part of the tour, such as Lincoln, Nebraska; Fargo, North Dakota; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Hershey Pennsylvania.

Lucky fans in some bigger cities, such as Chicago, Houston, Montreal, and Toronto, are getting a double dose of the Rocket Man. Elton John announced that he will be doing two nights for those cities.

The added dates for the 2020 leg in North America come after the first 60 dates sold out. The additional 24 dates will go on sale starting Friday, November 22nd at 10 a.m. local time. However, American Express cardholders get the special treatment, with access to pre-sale tickets starting November 14th at 10 a.m. local time.

Elton John Promises to Retire Soon

The 72-year-old Hall of Fame musician kicked off the three-year Farewell Yellow Brick Road in 2018. During an emotional press conference, he announced that he will be retiring from the road once the tour is complete.

Elton John said that while he will “still be creative,” he says that his “priorities have changed” because he has young children now, and he will no longer tour. And while I understand his reasoning for retiring from touring, I don’t think the best psychic reader would have seen this coming.

But don’t expect anything less than fabulous from Elton John.

“I don’t want to go out with a whimper. I want to go out with a bang,” Elton John said, adding, “It’ll be the most produced, fantastic show I’ve ever done.”
