If you thought the internet had a problem with Idris Elba potentially becoming the next Bond, just wait. It’s being reported that Lashana Lynch is going to star in the upcoming series, replacing dashing James Bond as the new 007 agent.

Lashana Lynch Could Be the New 007

Bond Coming Out of Retirement

If the rumor is to be believed, Daniel Craig will briefly reprise his role one last time to teach Lynch the ropes. Bond will be coming out of retirement to teach the new agent everything she needs to know. Lynch won’t be “Bond” in the traditional sense, but she will take over the 007 title and resume covert operations.

Some people are already having a problem swallowing the idea of a new agent not fitting in the ‘traditional’ role. Previous Bond’s have included Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, Pirce Brosnan, and Roger Moore. All tall, strong, able white men. We’ll see how Lynch can shake up the aging series.

Lynch is best known for her role in Captain Marvel this year, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide in the box office and is largely considered one of the stronger Marvel titles.
