Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger tied the knot in a small ceremony on Sunday. Surrounded by a group of family and close friends, the pair exchanged their “I Do’s” after about a year of dating.
Both Chris and Katherine shared the same photo and caption to announce their nuptials:
“Yesterday was the best day of our lives! We became husband and wife in front of God, our families and those we love. It was intimate, moving and emotional. We feel so blessed to begin this new chapter of our lives. We are so thankful to our families and our friends who stood with us and grateful to Mr. Giorgio Armani who created a once in a lifetime dress for Katherine to wear and for me, the perfect suit. This morning we feel nothing but blessed.”
They chose the gardens of San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, as the venue. A source told People that it’s “a very romantic setting for a wedding” with “[l]ots of flowers and greenery everywhere.”
The guest list included a few famous names, including Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and Rob Lowe. More of Chris’s co-stars reached out on social media to wish him well. However, the guest list seems to have been focused on family.
Katherine’s parents, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, were both there, along with her siblings Patrick, Christopher, and Christina. Chris’s 6-year-old son with ex-wife Anna Faris was also in attendance. An onlooker reported that everyone “just looked so happy.”
Not every member of the Schwarzenegger clan was at the wedding, however. Katherine’s half-brother, Joseph Baena, didn’t make the guest list.
The 21-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mildred Baena, the woman with whom Arnold had a long-standing affair, has been snubbed on social media by both Katherine and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
The happy couple held a rehearsal dinner at Rob Lowe’s home. Before the dinner, Chris spent the day golfing with Rob and several friends in Santa Barbara, California. That might seem random, but the actors have known each other since their days on Parks and Recreation.
For the reception, guests enjoyed live music and cocktails, along with a menu of healthy, locally sourced food:
“They are using only local food. It’s a lot of fresh vegetables. They didn’t want the menu to be too heavy, or rich. It’s more of a light summer menu,” the anonymous wedding guest told People. “For dessert, there are lighter options as well like raspberries, blueberries and red currant.”
It sounds like a lovely, simple summertime wedding service. The couple has, so far, only released one official photo. If we learn any more details, you’ll be the first to find out!
