Jennifer Aniston and all of her Friends castmates have spent years saying that a reboot isn’t happening. Even as recently as a year or two ago, some of the stars of the shows denied having interest in doing any sort of reunion shows.

Aniston’s Castmates Have Been Uninterested in the Past

According to Matt LeBlanc, who played goofy Joey Tribbiani on Friends, said he doesn’t want to do a reunion because it simply wouldn’t work to go back and revisit all these years later. In an interview, he stated that he wouldn’t know what the story would even be because the characters have “moved on from that period so it just wouldn’t be the same.”

Similar to LeBlanc’s response, Lisa Kudrow, doesn’t see a reboot of Friends working, simply because it was a show about young adults, and the characters would be in their 40s and 50s now. It’s just not what the show was supposed to be about.

David Schwimmer’s “no” was similar to Kudrow’s response, saying in an interview, “I just don’t know if I want to see all of us with crutches and walkers.”

Aniston Hints at a Reunion on The Ellen Degeneres Show

But Still, it’s possible that could be changing as we close in on the series’ 25th anniversary.

Fans are riled up and excited after Jennifer Aniston visited The Ellen Degeneres Show. She was there to talk about her new Netflix movie with Adam Sandler, Murder Mystery, but the conversation quickly shifted to talking about her time on Friends.

The topic of a reboot clearly had to be talked about. “Listen, I told you this. I would do it,” Aniston said of a potential reunion. “The girls would do it, and the boys would do it, I’m sure. Listen, anything can happen.”

Revisiting the Central Perk?

With reboots of popular shows coming out left and right, maybe Aniston’s comments are enough to get that ball rolling and convince her castmates that it’s time to revisit the Central Perk. Do you think it’s possible that her castmates have changed their minds on rebooting the show?

Friends ended in 2004 after airing for ten years, but is still one of the most watched shows on Netflix.
