It Turns Out Sophie Turner Spoiled ‘Game of Thrones’–Last Year!

Now that Game of Thrones has finished its epic run, we don’t have to worry about spoilers anymore. But it turns out that, if we’d been paying attention, Sophie Turner herself revealed a MAJOR spoiler in 2018!

Warning: If you haven’t watched the series finale of Game of Thrones yet, turn back now!

Sophie Turner isn’t afraid of a little ink. Last June, she revealed a tattoo on her inner forearm that features the Dire Wolf emblem of House Stark and 3 very telling words:

The pack survives.

Inspirational Quote–or Huge Spoiler?

At the time, a few very vocal fans noticed the Instagram post–shared by Sophie’s tattoo artist Lauren Winzer–and were predictably outraged.

However, Sophie told James Corden that it was simply an inspirational quote taken from season 7.

“While I was getting it done people advised me not to because it looked like I was giving everything away, but I wasn’t,” she said while appearing on The Late Late Show. “It’s just a quote from last season. But everyone figures the pack really does survive, but it’s just a moral that I like to live by.”

She’s Not the Only One

Several of Sophie’s castmates have gotten their own tattoos to commemorate their time on the show. Sophie’s best friend and on-screen sister, Maisie Williams, got a tattoo of the words “No One” on the back of her neck.

As for Emilia Clarke, the Mother of Dragons has a small tattoo of three dragon silhouettes flying across her wrist. She said of the ink, “Made sure this mamma ain’t NEVER forgetting her babies.”

Wouldn’t it have been awesome if all the main players had gotten matching tattoos, like the actors from Lord of the Rings?

How Did Sophie Get Away With It?

I’m a little shocked that HBO didn’t step in and ask her to take down those Instagram posts. Knowing what we do now, it spells out that Arya, Bran, and Sansa were all destined to survive the finale.

During “The Bells” it seemed like Arya was a goner more than once. And we weren’t sure until the final episode that Dany would let Sansa live, given their frosty introduction. Plus, Jon Snow is still technically a Stark–and his fate was in question until the last moments of the series.

If we’d understood Sophie’s tattoo, watching the final season of Game of Thrones would have been a lot less stressful!
