Happy Monday, fellow gossip lovers! Here’s what you missed over the weekend. We’re talking Beyonce, Adele, Michelle Williams, and Pete Davidson–plus a Pitch Perfect marriage that ended in divorce.
All hail Queen Bey! She signed a massive deal with Netflix. How massive, you ask? $60 million!
That paycheck covers 3 projects, including the already-produced documentary special “Homecoming” about her Coachella performance last year. (Beyonce reportedly earned around $8 million for that appearance.) Although she previously partnered with HBO to release “Lemonade,” it seems that even Beyonce couldn’t resist the sweet allure of Netflix’s offer.
Not to be overly cynical, but I bet we’re going to get an epic break-up album out of this. Adele is reportedly done with Simon Konecki, her partner of 7 years. The pair have a 6-year-old son.
Her reps said, “They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”
The 30-year-old singer has kept her private life out of the spotlight. She and the 44-year-old entrepreneur rarely made appearances together, so it’s not easy to guess how long their relationship has been on the rocks. The last time they were photographed together was in January at an Elton John concert.
This was not a good week for the marriages of famous blonde ladies. First Adele, now Michelle Williams and Anna Camp. Michelle split from her husband, musician Phil Elverum, after less than a year of marriage.
Anna Camp also split up with her husband, fellow Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin, after 2 years. The pair dated for 3 years before tying the knot. They unfollowed each other on Instagram, which is as close to an official statement of bad blood as we’re likely to get.
Charlize Theron said in an interview that Jackson, her 7-year-old adopted child, announced that she was “not a boy” at the age of 3. Charlize went on to say that “I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.”
Charlize adopted Jackson in 2012 and brought home her second daughter, August, in 2015. Of her girls, Charlize said, “My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be. And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that.”
I know that Pete Davidson has an image he likes to project–one that pokes fun at his fame and especially at our fascination with his love life. But when you tell the world you live in your mother’s basement… well, it makes you sound a little bit immature.
Pete told Jimmy Fallon: “So I live with my mom… well we bought a house together, but nobody believes that. So I live with my mom, kinda,” he shared. “So I have, like, a basement that’s mine, but that’s, like, an apartment, so I live underneath her.”
While it’s great that he helped his mom buy a house, I can’t imagine him inviting Kate Beckinsale back there to play Fortnite and eat pizza.
