Inside Mama June’s Arrest for Crack Cocaine–And the Crazy Tweets That Followed!

We touched on this story yesterday, but it’s just too juicy. Mama June Shannon’s life is a trailer park trainwreck, and we can’t look away. Somehow, getting arrested for crack cocaine in an Alabama gas station is just the cherry on the crazy sundae.

Mama June

Alabama Arrest

Over the weekend, police officers were called to an Alabama gas station to deal with a heated domestic argument. The couple in question was June and her boyfriend of 3 years, Geno Doak.

Doak was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and third-degree domestic violence. June was also arrested for possession. And what, dear reader, did they possess?

Oh, just a little ol’ crack pipe.

The police reportedly also found several syringes, a vial containing cocaine residue, and $1340 hidden in June’s bra.

Tweet Storm Ahoy!

Despite being arrested over the weekend, June took to Twitter to promote the season premiere of her latest reality show, Mama June: From Not to Hot.

She encouraged fans to tune in for the “outrageous moments” as she live-tweeted the premiere. June said her favorite outrageous moment was the one where Geno agreed to “possibly marry” her with a promise ring.

Look, we all know about what happened in Alabama. Anybody watching her show would have seen the news. It’s possible that she can’t comment on the arrest for legal reasons. So far, neither her team nor We TV has issued a statement.

But it seems crazy to carry with on with business as usual, right? Why wouldn’t she be excited about the man who allegedly threatened to kill her in a parking lot just a few days ago?

The Ballad of Mama June

For better or worse, “crazy” is pretty much the family brand for Mama June and her girls.

June and her 4 daughters–including the sassy 6-year-old beauty queen Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson–first arrived on our screens thanks to TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras.

Honey Boo Boo became a breakout star, landing her family a reality show of their own. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo lasted until 2014, when audiences discovered that June’s boyfriend was a convicted sex offender with a record of child molestation.

After (finally) dropping that boyfriend, June also dropped 300 lbs thanks to weight loss surgery. Mama June: From Not to Hot chronicles that journey. Season 3 just premiered on WE TV, but it’s not certain she’ll get a 4th season.

Is it time for this family to leave our TV screens for good? Or are you curious whether June can turn her life around?
