Jennifer Lawrence is soon to be a married woman. The 28-year-old, Oscar-winning actress confirmed that she’s engaged to her boyfriend of 8 months, art dealer Cooke Maroney.
After dating her X-Men costar Nicholas Hoult off and on for several years beginning in 2010, Jennifer Lawrence had a fling with newly divorced rocker Chris Martin.
Then, in 2016, she began a high-profile relationship with director Darren Aronofsky. After the split (and the flop of their film, mother!), Jennifer seemed to enjoy being single for about six months.
That changed when a mutual friend set her up with art dealer Cooke Maroney.
Here’s what we know: Cooke is 34 years old and is the director of Gladstone Gallery in New York. The well-respected gallery works with high-end contemporary artists, including Lena Dunham’s father, Carroll Dunham, and Anish Kapoor (who designed the famous “bean” sculpture in Chicago).
He’s been photographed with Stavros Niarchos–Paris Hilton’s ex and the heir to a Greek shipping fortune–and other movers and shakers in New York society.
Despite fame and fortune, the happy couple has kept their relationship under wraps for 8 months. Eagle-eyed gossip fans have spotted them on dates around New York, Paris, and Rome–must be nice, right?
But Jennifer and Cooke don’t walk the red carpet or attend gallery openings together. Nor do they share details of their life on Twitter. As far as we can tell, they’re a relaxed, laidback couple who prefer to keep their private lives to themselves. That’s quite a feat, considering that Jennifer is one of the biggest movie stars on the planet.
An anonymous source told Page Six that Jennifer’s ring is a massive sparkler: “It was a giant rock. They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it. The ring was very noticeable.”
Considering how private the couple is, we may have to wait a long time for a glimpse of that ring. Don’t expect to get an Instagram pic or tabloid exclusive. That’s not how this couple rolls.
